Board Pledge is $88 per month.
Requirements:
1.Financial knowledge of the organization.
2.Personal commitment to devote the time necessary to perform the responsibilities of Treasurer.
3.Understanding of financial accounting for nonprofit organizations.
Responsibilities:
Serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.
1.Manages, with the Finance Committee, the Board’s review of, and action related to the Board of Directors' financial responsibilities.
2.Works with the Bookkeeper and Board of Directors to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board of Directors on a timely basis.
3.Assist the Board of Directors and finance committee manager in preparing the annual budget and presenting the budget to the Board of Directors for approval.
4.Works with the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors to develop Fiscal Policies for recommendation to the Board to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization.
5.Works with the Finance Committee and the Board to develop long-term financial strategies.
6.Keeps informed of legal, regulatory, and sector developments relating to the Board of Directors' financial responsibilities.
7. Have strong financial knowledge
- This includes budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial statements. Ideally, someone with a background in accounting, finance, or business management. 8. Be detail-oriented
- Someone who can dig deep into financials, identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement. 9. Be proactive and communicative
- A person who can give clear financial direction, keep stakeholders informed, and offer strategic insights rather than just reporting numbers. 10. Have experience with nonprofit financials
- Some familiarity with nonprofit tax laws, fundraising practices, and reporting requirements could be beneficial, and willing to learn these things. 11. Have leadership or team experience
