Description

The Front Desk Receptionist is the face of the Library and New College of Florida. This position will greet students and visitors, perform administrative tasks, provide information on services and direct inquiries to the proper departments. Greet faculty, staff, students, and visitors, and direct them to the appropriate areas or persons.

Please note, this is not a student worker position. This is a temporary, part-time position without benefits. We are looking to hire two staff positions 8am-1pm, Monday through Friday and 1pm-6pm, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on College closures. Examples of Duties

Greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors and direct them to departments and services within the library. Check for college IDs upon visitor entrance and determine how to help non-New College affiliated visitors. Walking visitors to locations within the library when necessary. Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable.

Provide campus wayfinding when visitors need directions to other departments and places on campus (e.g., the mailroom). Direct visitors to events taking place on campus. Use Mazevo or NovoConnect to help visitors with the location and time of events and to help faculty troubleshoot classroom issues.

Provide information to routine inquiries, answering the telephone, taking messages or routing calls according to appropriate offices/departments. Use Navigate360 to help visitors with the location and time of appointments.

Sort incoming mail and intracampus deliveries and contact appropriate departments.

Exercise discretion and adhere to confidentiality policies, especially when dealing with student records or other sensitive information, in accordance with regulations such as FERPA.

Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience. Strong computer and phone skills. Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and one year library or customer service experience.
