October 6, 2025 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan RN license preferred for local candidates) BLS certification required prior to first shift ACLS certification required prior to first shift Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience (2 years preferred) Experience in Med/Surg or related specialties (Same Day Surgery, Detox, Bone Marrow Transplant, Mental Health, IDD) is a plus Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from day one Communicate changes in patient status to care team members for continuity and safety Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and safety procedures Contribute to a positive healthcare team environment and participate in unit team-building activities Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
