Financial Analyst Pricing Strategy And Profitability
Toppan Packaging America's is seeking a dynamic, highly analytical Financial Analyst Pricing Strategy and Profitability to join our Commercial Analysis team. This role requires the ability to develop, in a timely manner, an understanding of our manufacturing processesincluding printing, laminating, and finishingas well as the flexibles packaging structures we produce. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building effective relationships across multiple functional areas. This Analyst will play a critical role in safeguarding division profitability, supporting profitable growth initiatives, and delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate is highly analytical with a talent for distilling complex data sets into clear, actionable insights that drive financial and operational decisions. Additionally, a strong investigative mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, and precision are essential to be successful in this role. What You'll Be Doing: Develop cost estimates for quotations and bids using approved cost models and Radius ERP system, along with closely collaborating with Supply Management, Account Technical, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure accuracy. Shape pricing strategies by analyzing industry pricing trends, customer expectations, plant capacity, division profitability goals, and raw material trends. Establish price levels that align with both profit objectives and market conditions. Monitor and drive improvements in win/loss bid performance, expected vs. actual margins, and variances between quoted and plant standards. Leverage data, analysis, and sound judgment to set selling prices for assigned customers, markets, and new prospects. Take ownership in applying profit objectives, identifying opportunities for improvement, and aligning pricing targets with market strategies. Exercise independent decision-making to maximize division profitability. Lead the design and execution of customer price change mechanisms, staying current on raw material cost movements and manufacturing cost changes to adjust pricing effectively. Identify and implement margin improvement initiatives. Maintain key customer relationships and provide ad hoc analyses for division leadership.
