JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Facilities Coordinator Ministry Area: Waynesville Campus Reports To: Director of Operations Classification: Administration & Operations Status: Full-Time, Exempt Position Objective: The Facilities Coordinator will help support a team to provide a safe and well-maintained environment, in managing all building and systems operations and has primary responsibility for day-to-day coordination of facility-related operations campus-wide. This position is responsible for scheduling, planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up of all tasks as required. Position Summary: This position serves as a member of the Orchard Church staff and is responsible for overseeing and liaising with those in Maintenance, General Housekeeping, and Grounds, and developing and managing volunteer groups/teams to ensure the locations are maintained and ensure the safety of the members of the church. Key Responsibilities Answer phones system and report to Director of Operations for phone details Ensure the church’s facilities are maintained in proper working order to serve the needs of ministry operations Overseeing, developing, and managing volunteer groups/teams to ensure all locations are maintained, and clean, and ensure the safety of the members of the church Conducts and maintains monthly and annual facility evaluations and assessments of operationally relevant components including but not limited to A/C units, security, elevator, sprinkler, and fire systems Ensures work environments are adequate and safe Responsible for maintaining church grounds including outdoor lawn, parking lot, and all physical properties Ensure the locking and unlocking facilities daily, for special events, bible studies, etc. Turning lights out and making sure the building is secure when leaving Facility set-up and break-down for events, including tables and chairs set up in designated rooms by the plan given for weekly events Responsible for keeping the carpets clean and free of obvious spots Responsible for maintaining vehicles including golf carts and being sure they are gassed and ready for Sunday Monitoring the safety of interior and exterior areas, such as conference rooms, parking lots, and outdoor spaces Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the inside of the building, including offices, classrooms, stairwells, bathrooms, kitchen, foyer, and windows Responsible for painting and keeping the walls clean without marks; and painting classrooms when needed Other duties assigned by the Executive Staff Other Duties & Responsibilities The Facilities Coordinator is expected to adhere to the teachings of The Orchard Church in his personal life and professional ministry. Maintain healthy, mentoring relationships with church staff, church membership, and others. The Facilities Coordinator shall maintain a consistent and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, including, but not limited to, regular prayer and Bible study. Qualifications Experience working with diverse populations Must be a strong Christian who is biblically sound and grounded in their faith Possess a loyalty and commitment to the vision of the Church and that of the Lead Pastor An individual with general knowledge of facility management and the diverse opportunities for ministering to the community serviced by The Orchard Church A genuine love for people and a desire to serve them through preparing and presenting facilities that represent excellence and meet ministry needs Knowledge Understanding of the Southern Baptist denomination Understanding of the cultural environment of the church’s membership Understanding of the budgeting and financial operations of the church Experience in training, teaching, and recruiting church members to assist in projects Skills Effective and professional communication with all levels of staff and the general public Listening skills and the ability to interpret and respond to personal and confidential situations Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems Proficiency with repair tools and techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors, and team members Great time management, organization, and prioritization abilities Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods Personal Attributes Initiative Sensitivity Integrity Adaptability Judgment Working Conditions Normal office environment Serving diverse populations in a caring, loving atmosphere Can be exposed to stressful situations on occasion Physical Demands Some lifting, pushing, pulling Sitting in an office chair for periods Environmental Conditions Most work is done indoors and outdoors in varied environments Conditions vary while on outdoor activities, mission trips, and service activities (indoor and outdoor environments, walking, moving from place to place performing various tasks including construction) Mental Demands Ability to concentrate in an active work environment Ability to deal with stress in sensitive situations Ability to manage multiple demands on time and energy The Human Resources Team of The Orchard Church has the right to revise this position description at any time.
