Julian F. Keith Alcohol & Drug Abuse Treatment Center in Black Mountain has an exceptional opportunity for a Health Care Technician I / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The primary responsibilities of the Health Care Technician I / CNA are to: Support our patients as they work toward the goals and objectives of their individual treatment plans. Manage the milieu on each unit through close observation and interaction with all patients. Assist patients with daily living skills. Other duties as delegated by and completed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This posting is for multiple vacancies. The Health Care Technician I will work one of the following: 8-hour days (6:45am - 3:15 pm) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required 12-hour days (6:45am - 7:15 pm) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required 8-hour evenings (2:45pm 11:15pm) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required 8-hour nights (10:45 pm 7:15 am) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required 12-hour nights (6:45pm - 7:15 am) some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility required This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Special Condition for Continued Employment: As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. All positions in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities shall be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal record background checks.
