Compliance Specialist (Affordable Housing)
LHH Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Specialist to join our client's team in Portland, OR. This full-time, onsite position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations and managing complex funding layers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs, HUD, and Rural Development (RD) funding. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations. Manage and maintain documentation for various funding layers including LIHTC, HUD, and RD. Conduct internal audits and prepare for external compliance reviews. Collaborate with property management and development teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Stay current on changes in housing regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders. Assist in preparing reports and submissions for regulatory agencies. Provide training and support to staff on compliance-related matters. Qualifications: Proven experience in affordable housing compliance, including LIHTC, HUD, and RD programs. Strong understanding of housing regulations and funding mechanisms. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
