The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting all aspects of human resources within Community Bus Services school bus company, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and training. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe, compliant, and positive work environment for drivers, monitors, mechanics, dispatchers, and office staff. Base pay range

Recruitment & Onboarding Coordinate full-cycle recruiting for drivers, monitors, and administrative staff. Conduct pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug/alcohol testing, DOT requirements, driving records). Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and training to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Employee Relations Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, workplace issues, and conflict resolution. Support employee engagement and retention initiatives. Administer corrective action and performance improvement plans in collaboration with management. Compliance & Recordkeeping Maintain personnel files in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and state regulations. Monitor CDL licensing, medical certifications, and driver qualification files. Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other employment laws. Training & Development Coordinate safety and compliance training for drivers and staff. Track mandatory certifications and training renewals. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 24 years of HR experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, or a safety-regulated industry. Strong knowledge of employment laws and DOT regulations. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Seniority level
