OpenShift Systems Engineer | DevOps & Automation Focus

Location: Hybrid (4 days remote / 1 day onsite in Denver, CO) Team Size: 10 (2 direct teammates) Employment Type: Contract - W2 Join the forefront of containerization innovation. We are seeking a skilled OpenShift Systems Engineer to help lead our transformation from VMware to OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). This is a unique opportunity to be part of the first team fully migrating to OpenShift in our organization, shaping the future of our infrastructure in a dynamic development and lab environment. Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage OpenShift (v4.12+) clusters, with a strong focus on on-prem environments. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift and GitLab CI. Automate cluster provisioning and maintenance using Ansible, Helm, and other tools. Monitor and optimize cluster performance, scalability, and reliability. Troubleshoot across infrastructure, platform, and container layers. Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support containerized workloads and microservices. Document architecture, configurations, and migration processes. Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to internal teams. What You Bring

5+ years as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer. Deep hands-on experience with OpenShift OCP (v4.12+ preferred). Strong background in VMware vSphere and virtualized on-prem workloads. Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible and Helm. Experience with CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices. Nice-to-Haves

Cloud platform experience. Broader systems administration background. Exposure to OpenShift Virtualization. Soft Skills

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Strong communication and documentation skills. Self-driven with a collaborative mindset. Passion for automation, scalability, and operational excellence. Why This Role?
