Port Jersey Logistics
We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Recruiter to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for managing full-cycle recruiting and onboarding activities across all of Port Jerseys divisions. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a sense of urgency, and a passion for connecting talent with opportunity.
Responsibilities
Conduct phone screenings and coordinate interview scheduling
Manage the HRIS Talent System: screen candidates, send communications, and handle post-interview follow-ups
Assist with job fairs and other recruitment events
Partner with IT vendors to coordinate onboarding and terminations
Maintain and distribute biweekly open position reports
Oversee pre- and post-offer background check process
Prepare new hire files, orientation packets, and invites
Maintain personnel files and ensure timely/accurate filing of HR documents
Post job requisitions on internal and external job boards
Reconcile recruiting-related invoices and vendor billing
Create employee ID badges and assign parking tags
Maintain distribution lists, email groups, and phone directories
Collaborate with union reps and staffing agencies to reconcile service invoices
Assist with various HR and accounting projects as assigned
Qualifications
12 years of HR or recruitment administration experience Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (not required) Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills; PowerPoint a plus Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks with urgency
Physical Requirements
Lift and/or move office/warehouse supplies (515 lbs) as needed Perform fine hand manipulation (typing, writing, filing, packaging items) Communicate effectively by phone for up to 8 hours/day Open filing cabinets and bend/stoop/stand as necessary Vision requirements include both close and distance vision

This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
