Responsible for day-to-day operational execution in support of an Executive Director within a larger community. Manage occupancy and monthly financial performance for the property. Maintain positive working relationships with residents, family members, employees, and the local business community. Under direct supervision of an Executive Director, act as the primary contact for staff, residents, prospects, community organizations, government agencies and the public. Supervise, direct, and motivate staff; ensure training programs are effectively executed. Maintain high resident satisfaction and retention through delivery of high-quality services; provide leadership to staff and residents; administer annual resident satisfaction surveys. Execute renewal programs with existing residents to maximize renewal rates. Assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets; maintain budget accountability and strive to meet occupancy goals; explore revenue enhancement and expense reduction opportunities. Hire, train, discipline and manage employees in accordance with company policies; ensure consistency in personnel decisions. Ensure buildings and grounds meet company standards through preventive maintenance and regular inspections. Maintain current departmental policies, procedures and licenses; foster creativity and stability; participate as a member of the Resident Counsel. Develop and maintain a positive community image; engage in local social and civic activities; represent the facility to governmental and professional bodies. Conduct department head meetings weekly and quarterly associate, safety, and residential meetings. Stay informed about competitive projects and programs in the market. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Gerontology, Business or related field required. Minimum two to four years of proven management experience in retirement housing, hospitality or health care, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications, Licenses:
State license as a nursing home administrator and/or Assisted Living License. Management/Decision Making:
Strong analytic skills and understanding of the organization to address problems with limited precedents/guidelines. Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced knowledge of the organization and industry; understanding of legal requirements impacting skilled nursing and assisted living facilities; ability to hire, train, evaluate, motivate and discipline personnel; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work under pressure and multi-task. Physical Demands and Working Conditions
