This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Geography covers Silver Spring, Mt Vernon, Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg and surrounding areas. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Overview

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and provide customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance while operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities

Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc., to meet or exceed those objectives. Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Handle objections and concerns effectively to enable close on calls. Aim to serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers. Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities. Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy. Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance. Qualifications

Bachelors degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent industry experience required. Relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five (5) years, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required. Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment. Proven track record in selling and presentation skills; adapts selling approach to customer style; provides impactful ideas for the organization and responds to changes. Influences others; builds collaborative partnerships; leads by example and provides coaching in challenging environments. Documented leadership and support experience at district/region levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies. Preferred: experience in sales within the respective therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written). Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory. HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as required. AbbVie provides resources to help answer questions.
