Do you like helping the U.S. Army implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies? Do you have a knack for helping these groups understand application architectures and integration approaches, and the consultative skills to launch a project on a trajectory to success? Come join our team as a Solutions Architect and help us accelerate our growing U.S. Department of Defense business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. This is an opportunity to work with Amazon’s technical teams while developing skills and advancing your career. Must be willing to travel within the US and overseas 35%. This role focuses on building broad use of Amazon Web Services (e.g., DynamoDB, S3, EC2, CloudFront) with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. You will own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects, define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and security for customer applications and services. You will work with a dynamic sales and business development team, share best-practice knowledge, and collaborate with bright technical minds across enterprise architecture. Responsibilities
Own technical engagements and drive success for implementation projects on AWS for Defense customers. Define architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop deep AWS proficiency with broad knowledge of how applications and services are built on the AWS platform. Act as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services. Contribute to capturing and sharing best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community. Learn from, collaborate with, and educate other technical professionals across enterprise architecture. Basic Qualifications
8+ years in technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience Experience with end user or developer communities Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders Experience architecting infrastructure solutions for Linux/Unix and Windows (server, load balancing, HA/DR, storage) Executive speaking and presentation skills; ability to present in white-board, small and large groups Technical: Web Services development/deployment, cloud computing Operational: Web sites/services operations, management, and security Economic/Business: RFP/Acquisition support; technical architecture; market trends; cost-benefit analysis Advisory/Consulting experience with Defense Department customers Security and Eligibility
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen and to hold and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. About the Team and Company
