Job Responsibilities
Assist the Corporate Executive Chef with staffing, ordering, training, leading food production, delegating tasks, reporting issues, and maintaining quality and cleanliness throughout the food production process.
Oversees all kitchen operations to ensure best practices are followed as defined by the Corporate Executive Chef.
Communicates effectively with culinary staff.
Ensure employees are achieving the standards set by the Corporate Executive Chef.
Promotes team spirit by connecting with culinary team members and ensuring their needs are heard and met.
Maintains overall cleanliness of the kitchen.
Attends department staff meetings as directed.
Applies and maintains ServeSafe, HACCP, and Company standards for safe and presentable food practices.
Qualifications
Proven cooking experience as a sous chef or line cook with leadership responsibilities.
Professional kitchen experience with instruction of others; culinary school diploma preferred.
Creative, flexible and quick-thinking problem solver to manage kitchen challenges.
Familiar with operating all equipment in a professional kitchen.
Strong communication skills and team leadership.
Knowledge of culinary industry best practices.
Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
Extensive knowledge of menu/food preparation and food combinations.
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a professional kitchen.
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Strong manual dexterity and physical endurance.
