Overview

Senior Consultant position in the Construction Advisory Practice at J.S. Held. The firm provides engineering, construction, and advisory services to clients on claims, disputes, delay analysis, project advisory services, cost analysis, and controls. The role focuses on contract and change order management, critical path scheduling analysis, preparation of change orders or claims, cost analysis, and review of drawings and specifications. Prior active project experience or experience in claims and dispute resolution is highly preferred. The position offers exposure to interesting projects with a defined career path. Job Responsibilities

Review and assess project change orders (scope, costs, schedules). Review and analyze project schedules, including delay analysis. Analyze loss of productivity and inefficiencies. Calculate damages (e.g., increased material, labor costs, or additional subcontractor costs). Analyze extended general conditions and other time-related costs. Review and interpret drawings and specifications. Assist in preparation of expert reports and presentations. Lead small teams or professionals on engagements as needed. Produce work products, draft memos, presentations, and reports. Travel as needed to project sites and client offices. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, etc.) or Construction Management. 4+ years of experience with engineering/construction firms or construction claim/dispute firms. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe, or other PDF management software. Scheduling software: Microsoft Project or Primavera. Hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence at designated locations. Analytical mindset and attention to detail. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Estimating experience preferred but not required. Capability to develop Power BI dashboards preferred. Preferred Qualifications

Progress toward registration or professional license (e.g., Primavera P6, OSHA 10, PSP, PMP, PMI-SP, PE, EIT, LEED, CSL). Membership or participation in industry trade organizations. Physical and Mental Qualifications

Must be able to remain stationary during work shifts and travel domestically and internationally. Character and Professional Expectations

A reasonable salary range for this role is $95,000–$120,000, based on skills, experience, location, and scope. Duties and responsibilities may evolve over time.
