Hospitality & Culinary Manager in Training (MIT) opportunities available across the U.S. Bon Appétit Management Company operates more than 1,000 cafés in corporations, universities, museums, and other settings, delivering food, hospitality, and support services. Role Description
As a Hospitality & Culinary Manager in Training (MIT), you will gain preparation for a potential future role within our hospitality team leadership. Through this process, you will learn best practices in your Compass Group sector and apply them in areas which may include marketing, customer service, retail, merchandising, purchasing and supply chain, hiring, training, payroll, profit and loss, and more. You will be assigned to a training location for on-site, hands-on learning and participate in Compass Group’s Accelerated Manager Program (AMP). Upon successful completion, relocation within your assigned region may be required for placement opportunities. Promotion to a full-time management position is based on performance and business need and is not guaranteed. Responsibilities
Gain experience across managerial areas including Café Management, Catering Management, Chef Management, Retail Management, Dining Services Management, Customer Service Management, Merchandising Management, and Sous Chef roles. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree received by May 2026 or prior (required) One year of culinary, customer service, hospitality work/internship experience Willingness to relocate for the right role or advancement opportunity Demonstrated financial acumen including profit and loss management, inventory, and cash handling skills Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with peers, employees, clients, and customers Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment Basic understanding of contract administration and client relations Basic knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, and marketing Competency in all Microsoft Office applications Driver’s License (preferred, but may be required for certain roles) Accelerated Manager Program (AMP)
AMP is a structured program combining assessment, training, and coaching to develop future leaders. It can be completed in 12 weeks or more, depending on learning needs and pace. Participants receive a competency-based assessment, a personalized learning path with experiential learning, mentorship, and 360° progress evaluation. Benefits
