Overview
Head of Cross Issue & Product Policy - Trust and Safety at TikTok. This role leads the Cross Issue & Product Policy team to drive the end-to-end development of platform integrity and authenticity policy, ensuring high quality safety policies across all harm areas and drafting the Community Guidelines that govern our global community. The role works closely with Product, Enforcement, Legal, and Business teams and provides policy leadership on cross-cutting issues. Responsibilities
Lead the Cross Issue & Product Policy team, setting vision, strategy, and priorities across a portfolio that spans all harm domains, new product features, and platform-level policy questions. Own the drafting, maintenance, and evolution of TikTok’s Community Guidelines, ensuring clarity, defensibility, and operational applicability across global markets. Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to senior leadership on emerging policy issues. Oversee integrity and authenticity policy, including civic integrity, misinformation, and AI-generated content. Partner with subject-matter policy teams, enforcement specialists, product managers, engineers, data scientists, and legal experts to ensure policies are both principled and implementable. Guide the team’s work on high-profile policy initiatives, including new product launches and novel, fast-developing harm areas. Develop and mentor a high-performing team of policy managers, fostering clarity, accountability, and collaboration. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: 5 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Public Policy, Law, Academia, Technology, or related field. Experience leading and managing teams, setting strategic direction, and delivering high-quality outputs in a fast-paced, global environment. Deep understanding of content policy, online safety, integrity, and authenticity challenges, and social media dynamics. Ability to synthesize complex topics for senior executives, external stakeholders, and broad audiences. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with product, technical, legal, and operational teams. High technical aptitude and ability to navigate complex tools, systems, and emerging technologies. Knowledge of data science and how it informs policy development and enforcement. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in policy development in highly regulated or high-scrutiny industries. Experience engaging external stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, academics, or civil society organizations. About TikTok
