Overview

The Home Depot is seeking an accomplished and visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead the Experimentation Platform team. This pivotal role focuses on building and scaling the centralized Experimentation Platform that empowers teams across the company to make data-driven decisions. You will lead a high-performing team of engineers to build and operate web-scale services that enable rapid, reliable experimentation for millions of homedepot.com customers. You will partner with product management, analytics, data science, technology vendors, and senior leadership to define the strategic vision and long-term roadmap for the Experimentation Platform, ensuring the platform aligns with the company\'s goals for innovation and growth. Direct experience building or leading an A/B testing, experimentation, or feature flagging platform is a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Execution (30%): Collaborates with product team members (UX, engineering, and product management) to create secure, reliable, scalable software solutions; documents, reviews and ensures quality and change control standards are met; writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases; works with vendors and partners for successful tooling implementations; creates meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to address issues proactively; contributes to enterprise-wide tools to drive destructive testing, automation, and engineering empowerment; evaluates new technologies for enterprise adoption; participates in and leads review board sessions to drive consistency; supports product teams when engineers are unavailable. Support & Enablement (10%): Field questions from engineers and product/support teams; monitors tools and facilitates cross-team collaboration; provides application support for production software; serves as a technical escalation point for engineers. People (50%): Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to Software Engineers; attracts and develops top talent; conducts annual and mid-year reviews; fosters collaboration across product teams; promotes modern software development practices; guides team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution; participates in learning activities around modern software design and development practices. Learning (10%): Learns new technologies and best practices through reading, tutorials, and videos; builds relationships with technology leaders at other companies to learn best practices and elegant solutions. Minimum Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States. Mastery of an object oriented programming language (preferably Java). Experience with Java-based enterprise software development and cloud environments. Preferred Qualifications

Experience setting the technical vision for an Enterprise-Scale Experimentation Platform. Strong understanding and integration of client and server-side experimentation with modern web frameworks (React, Vue.js, Next.js, Angular). Experience with A/B testing and digital analytics, including platform implementation, test execution, and analysis. Experience with cloud environments (GCP) and integration with experimentation platforms like Adobe and analytics tools (Adobe/Google Analytics) and data visualization (Looker, Tableau). Mastery of cross-functional collaboration and modern product development processes and pipelines. Experience with edge-based content delivery and caching for large e-commerce environments. Direct Manager / Direct Reports

Typically reports to the Software Engineer Sr. Manager, Technology Director or Sr. Director. Travel Requirements

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time. Physical Requirements

Most of the time, sits in a comfortable position with occasional movement; the role may involve lifting light articles on rare occasions. Working Conditions
