Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Director I to function as an Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Central Regional Hospital (CRH). The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Chief Nursing Officer in the delivery of nursing care, the adequate coverage of staff and the daily operation of the Nursing Department. The Associate Chief Nursing Officer develops, prioritizes, implements, monitors and evaluates departmental goals and assists the Chief Nursing Officer in developing nursing strategies that align with mission and values of the facility. Job duties include but are not limited to the following: Supervises and guides Unit Nurse Directors/ Clinical Nurse Managers Serves on Hospital wide and Departmental committees, initiatives, and projects to ensure the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies are met. Rounds on assigned service area and serves as a consultant to unit management teams. Ensures credentialing, licensure, certifications are valid, and nursing database is accurate. Ensures employee selections, disciplinary actions and performance work plans are processed. In collaboration with CNO, reviews and allocate resources within the department to meet budget and fiscal goals. Maintain open communication with Hospital Administration (Executive Management) and other departments through on-going schedule meetings for information sharing and problem-solving related to issues/problems. The normal work hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday however flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.
