Overview
Application deadline: Dec 12, 2025. Join our team as a Solutions Architect to help accelerate the U.S. Department of Defense business within the World Wide Public Sector practice. This role involves helping Army customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions using the latest cloud technologies, shaping architectures, and guiding projects to success. Travel within the U.S. and overseas is required at 35%. In this role you will help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon Web Services (e.g., DynamoDB, S3, EC2, CloudFront) with customers and our ecosystem of systems integrators and solution providers. You will own the technical engagement for specific implementation projects, define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, and become a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services. You will provide thoughtful technical design and sensitivity to customer needs in the Defense markets and work with a sales and business development team. You will contribute to capturing and sharing best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community and collaborate with industry leaders across enterprise architecture. Responsibilities
Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects. Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs. Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and best practices for building applications and services on the AWS platform. Serve as a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services. Engage with customers and ecosystem partners to deliver cloud solutions for the Defense market. Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community. Collaborate with and educate senior technical minds across the breadth of enterprise architecture. Qualifications
8+ years of experience in technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics). 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures. 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries. Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Secret or above. 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience. Experience working with end user or developer communities. Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders. Experience architecting infrastructure solutions for Linux/Unix and Windows with server, load balancing, high availability/disaster recovery, and storage considerations. Executive speaking and presentation skills, including white-boarding and large-group presentations. Technical experience in web services development/deployment and cloud computing. Operational experience with websites/services operations, management, and security. Economic and business experience in RFP/acquisition support, technical architecture, market trends, and cost-benefit analysis. Advisory/consulting experience with Defense Department customers. U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Benefits and Other Information
