Corporate Controller
to serve as a strategic thought partner and provide participative leadership across all aspects of managerial accounting and financial management. This senior-level role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer (COO/CFO) and plays a critical role in ensuring the financial strength and operational success of our family of companies. This position requires a seasoned professional with a wide range of successful financial and operating experience. Strong capability and competency in accounting (GAAP), finance, treasury, tax, credit, and collections are a must. This is a
“hands-on roll up your sleeves”
leadership role. Prior experience in the retail convenience store, motor fuel, and real estate industries is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee financial management and reporting for operating companies and real estate LLCs.
Manage cash flow ensuring coordination across companies, owners, and investment opportunities.
Partner with external financing groups and banks to maintain capital availability.
Lead preparation of budgets and cash flow projections on both entity-level and consolidated bases.
Support tax planning, strategy, compliance, and reporting in collaboration with CFO and external advisors.
Supervise and oversee the accounting, finance, tax, credit, and collections departments, ensuring effective leadership and alignment across all functions.
Conduct research, analysis, and modeling for business opportunities and investments.
Prepare and present financial materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax, accounting, and financial advisors.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
CPA designation required. MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years of senior financial experience, ideally in a privately held business.
Minimum of 2–5 years of public accounting experience.
Successful track record in building financial infrastructure and leading teams in complex, growing environments.
Experience in retail convenience stores, motor fuel, and real estate industries preferred.
Strong involvement in both the financial and operational aspects of the businesses.
