Overview
Occupational Therapist II (Certified Hand Therapist) – Inpatient position within Saint Francis/St Mary\'s hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. Reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides direct and indirect patient care services to adult and geriatric patients; pediatric cases may be included if competencies exist. This position is full time and located in San Francisco, CA. Sign-On Bonus:
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus Available for candidates with Certified Hand Therapist credentials and experience. Relocation:
Relocation reimbursement available to support your transition. This role includes maintaining patient records, participating in professional development, and contributing to safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives within the department and organization. Responsibilities
Plan and administer a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations, following licensed referrals. Perform patient evaluations using diverse tests and measurements (physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, psychosocial, developmental). Establish therapeutic goals and develop and implement intervention plans using occupational therapy techniques. Demonstrate competence in managing patients with varying acuity and complexity; seek mentoring for novel presentations or areas of specialty when needed. Maintain all applicable patient records related to patient care; manage time effectively and maintain organized work habits. Supervise OT students, Doctoral Fellows, and Rehabilitation Aides as appropriate. Participate in and may lead compliance, quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives within the department and organization. Engage in regular professional and clinical development (minimum 40 hours per year). Qualifications
Certification in Hand Therapy (required). MS or MA degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Minimum one year of licensed practice experience. Effective communication skills in English (oral and written). Ability to recognize signs of distress; basic computer skills including experience with Epic EMR. Strong interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiation skills. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Prior experience in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF settings. Experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team. License/Certification
* Possession of or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of California. * Possession of or eligibility for AHA BLS certification. Additional Information
