Overview
Inpatient Occupational Therapist (Entry Level OT 1) position within Saint Francis/St Mary’s Hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. Reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides direct and indirect patient care. Works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse backgrounds; may include pediatric competencies and work with infants, children, and/or adolescents as applicable. Relocation reimbursement is available for moving from out of the area. The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy and placement within the salary range is based on factors including work experience and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $53.20 - $71.79 per hour. Location: UCSF Health – St. Mary’s, San Francisco, CA. Work style: Fully On-Site. Shift: Days. Shift Length: 8 Hours. This is an in-hospital role in Rehabilitation Services focusing on enhancing function through occupational therapy with opportunities for ongoing clinical education and professional development. Responsibilities
Under general direction, plan and administer a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations. Responsibilities include: Conduct patient evaluations using physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, psychosocial, and developmental assessments. Establish therapeutic intervention goals and develop and implement intervention programs using occupational therapy techniques. Provide both direct patient care and indirect supervision as appropriate, including supervision of Rehabilitation Aides. Maintain all applicable patient records related to delivery of care. Collaborate with the clinical care team and participate in compliance, quality, safety, and process-improvement initiatives. May require mentoring or supervision in high-acuity settings (e.g., ICU) or with more complex cases. Be flexible to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed. Required Qualifications
MS or MA degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Less than one year of licensed clinical practice experience. Minimum one full-time fieldwork education experience in an acute care hospital or acute rehabilitation setting. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to recognize signs of distress. Basic computer skills including experience with Epic electronic medical record. Good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and self-initiative skills. Ability to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF settings. Experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team. License / Certification
Possession of or proven eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of California. Possession of or proven eligibility for AHA BLS certification. About UCSF
