Join our team and receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus as part of your employment offer. This is an inpatient position within Saint Francis/St Mary’s hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. The Staff Occupational Therapist (Occupational Therapist 2) reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The role primarily serves adult and geriatric patients from diverse backgrounds; pediatric competencies and clinical experience may include work with infants, children and/or adolescents based on needs. Under general direction and upon licensed approved provider referrals, the Staff Occupational Therapist plans and administers a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations. Services include patient evaluations, establishment of intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention plans, and implementation of therapy using occupational therapy techniques. The role involves treating patients with varying clinical acuity and complexity, seeking mentoring for novel presentations or areas of specialty when needed, and maintaining patient records related to care delivery. The incumbent may supervise OT students, Doctoral Fellows, and Rehabilitation Aides, and participates in ongoing professional development (40 hours or more per year). The role may participate in and lead compliance, quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives within the department and organization. Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients; may include pediatric patients based on competencies. Perform patient evaluations using a variety of physical, cognitive, visual/perceptual, psychosocial, and developmental assessments. Develop and implement therapeutic intervention plans and goals; document patient care and progress. Demonstrate clinical competence with patients of varying acuity; seek mentoring when necessary. Supervise OT students, Fellows, and Rehabilitation Aides as assigned. Engage in professional development and participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

MS or MA degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Minimum one year of licensed practice experience. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to recognize signs of distress. Basic computer skills including work within Epic electronic medical record. Good interpersonal, time management, problem-solving and self-initiation skills. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF settings. Experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team. License/Certification

Possession of or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of California. Possession of or eligible for AHA BLS certification. About UCSF
