CNTW NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist in Crisis and Home Treatment Team, based in North Cumbria. This is a new substantive post (10PAs) with flexibility to work fewer clinical sessions (8PAs) and develop a role in medical education (2PAs). The post holder will have total DCC of 7.5PAs and 2.5PAs for SPA. The closing date is 22 October 2025. The post holder will provide clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health problems and at-risk mental states, with opportunities to help develop changes within services in the region, including the 24/7 Hope Haven hub and the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine initiative. Main duties of the job

North Cumbria Crisis and Home Treatment Team (East and West localities) provide 24/7 triage, assessment, and home-based treatment for adolescents, adults, and older adults in acute mental health crisis. The service operates an ageless, inclusive model with open referrals (self, professional, and family referrals). Referrals are directed to three pathways: Children & Young People, Adults, and Older Adults, each with a dedicated MDT and defined leadership. The West MDT includes a specialist doctor, Nurse Consultant, clinical nurse specialists, clinical leads, mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, assistant practitioners, clinical support assistants, peer supporters, and access to medics. The East MDT includes consultants, specialist doctors, foundation doctors, and Core Trainees. Pathways collaborate overnight to provide continuous care. This is a full-time post (10PAs) for an adult psychiatrist to support the MDT and medical leadership, supervise reviews of patients on home treatment, and provide progress reviews. The role includes liaison with inpatients, community services, GPs, and other multi-agency staff, and supervision/support for doctors in training, medical students, and trainee non-medical prescribers. Qualifications and Training

MBBS (or equivalent) Included on GMC Specialist Register (General Psychiatry) or eligible for inclusion, or a trainee within six months of CCT Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 Approved Clinician Status MRCPsych or equivalent qualification Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field Has undergone training in educational supervision Has undergone training in appraisal Knowledge

Up to date knowledge in the field of Psychiatry Awareness of current issues and controversies in service provision, mental health policy and legislation An area of special interest relevant to the post as demonstrated by publications or presentations to learned societies Experience

Experience of multidisciplinary team working Wide clinical experience in general adult psychiatry in different clinical settings Experience of Clinical Audit Experience in multiagency work especially with service users, carers and voluntary agencies Experience in service management or development Skills

High level of clinical skills Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Proven competence in diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders in Adult Psychiatry Excellent teaching skills Demonstrate the ability to work in a time efficient manner Established record of clinical leadership Established ability as a clinical teacher Training in specific and relevant treatment skills (eg brief form of psychological therapy) Personal Characteristics
