— lead a system-wide Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) program, in partnership with the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and reporting to the Executive Director of Quality and Safety. Set and execute the strategic vision for infection prevention, driving innovation, compliance, and operational excellence across Stanford’s healthcare environment. This is a senior leadership role focused on influencing clinical practice, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and responding to emerging infectious threats with agility and authority. You’ll lead a team of IPC professionals, integrate digital solutions into prevention strategies, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The IPC Director will collaborate with the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and align with organizational goals as part of the SHC leadership team. Locations

Stanford Health Care, Palo Alto, CA What You Will Do

Provide strategic direction, oversight, and leadership for the implementation of a comprehensive infection control program for the hospital. Develop, execute, and organize periodic reviews of a comprehensive infection prevention plan aligned with organizational goals, including policies, procedures, and educational initiatives. Integrate technology and digitalize the management of the infection prevention plan. Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to infection control, including Joint Commission standards. Partner in a dyad with the Medical Director of Infection Prevention to address imminent infectious disease threats and disseminate information across the organization. Report diseases to applicable county health departments according to California requirements. Collaborate with the Health Department to report, address, and manage outbreaks, exposures, and communicable diseases. Work with stakeholders to address infection risks in the environment and clinical care processes and develop and implement prevention strategies. Supervise and mentor a team of infection prevention professionals across different entities. Manage the budget allocated for the infection prevention department and oversee resource allocation to support initiatives. Education Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or other health-related field from an accredited college or university. Experience Qualifications

Five years of experience in a leadership role in infection prevention and control. OR five years of progressive experience leading to a leadership role in infection prevention, quality, nursing, or other health-related fields. Licenses and Certifications

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $86.41 - $114.50 per hour.
