Job Summary The Controller at Heller Jewelers is the executive responsible for the oversight and performance of the Company’s financial assets and programs. They are accountable to create programs and processes that support the company’s strategic and operating plans while managing risk. The candidate must have solid communication, technology, and analytical skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Responsibilities

Oversee and direct the management of the P&L, budgeting, auditing, tax functions, accounting, purchasing, long range forecasting, payroll, and insurance activities for the organization Oversee and direct the preparation and issuance of the company's monthly financial reports Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identify monetary resources and develop action plans. Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities Evaluate accounting and internal control systems. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions and minimizing impact of variances Develop and maintain strong relationships with the president, general manager, and other leadership, providing advice on the financial implications of business activities Optimize bank relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position; monitor debt levels and maintain compliance with debt covenants Recognize the impact of operational issues affecting the financial health of the organization and develop, recommend and implement solutions that deliver results Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Assist with tax planning issues Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements and coordinate activities of external auditors Oversee Human Resources and Payroll functions, including employee onboarding, benefits administration, compliance with labor laws and payroll processing Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed Additional Experience Requirements

7+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree (MA/MBA preferred) in Business, Accounting or Finance. Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued Experience with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or jewelry-specific platforms) Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling tools Preferred experience in luxury retail, manufacturing, or high-value inventory environments Proven, effective leader with experience in financial management/accounting, legal, audit, compliance, and resource developments Disciplined business leadership focus with clear and definitive Key Performance Metrics (KPI’s) and ability to track results Able to deliver outstanding tangible results with an intense focus on forecasting, budgeting, and management Experience with jewelry-specific ERP or POS systems (e.g., Luxare, PIRO, JewelMate, wJewel) is highly desirable but not mandatory Strong communicator with both internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies and guiding investment in people and systems; ability to lead and motivate others to achieve agreed-upon results in a team-oriented environment High attention to detail with strong analytical skills, critical thinking, time management, planning, and problem-solving skills Committed to the company’s core values and mission statement Location and Compensation

Location: Onsite at store in San Ramon, CA Compensation: $130,000 annually with comprehensive benefits Seniority level
