Overview We’re Hiring: VP, Business Development (Remote or Cranbury, NJ)
A leading global CDMO specializing in oral solid dose drug delivery solutions is seeking a VP, Business Development to drive strategic growth across North America and beyond. This senior-level sales role will focus on new client acquisition and expansion of existing partnerships in the pharmaceutical sector.
What you’ll do
Develop and execute a strategic business development plan aligned with company growth objectives.
Identify, qualify, and convert leads into long-term partnerships (target: minimum 1 new signed quote per quarter).
Manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting and networking to closing.
Expand existing accounts by uncovering new opportunities and building stronger relationships.
Represent the organization at trade shows, industry events, and within professional networks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver winning proposals and ensure customer success.
Stay up to date on industry trends, technologies, and competitors within oral solid dose development and manufacturing.
What we’re looking for
7–10 years of proven business development/sales experience within a CDMO/CMO environment.
Strong network across the pharmaceutical oral solid dose market.
Deep knowledge of oral solid technologies (dry powder, wet granulation, hot melt extrusion) and packaging (blister, bottling, pouching).
Track record of closing deals and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Travel Travel requirement: ~50% domestic and up to 15% international.
Location Location: Cranbury, NJ (hybrid/remote flexibility within the U.S.).
