Gold’s Gym is growing fast and looking for a General Manager to help provide world-class service to our clubs and members by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. You will cultivate the club's culture by assembling a team of people who are committed to our mission, who love to help others reach their goals, and who believe in our entire community's health and wellness.
Responsibilities
Assemble and manage a fully engaged and high‑performing membership team that aligns with company initiatives and culture. Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. Enforce all club rules and policies and promote proper execution of all procedures. Maintain full staffing through review of applications, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations. Drive results and continuous improvement in Service and Fitness categories through strong business acumen, relationship building, clear communication, development and accountability of department heads. Plan, organize, and coordinate daily/weekly/monthly club functions to maximize club profit and loss goals with a member-centric focus. Recruit, hire, train, develop and nurture friendly and inclusive team members to support member needs, placing the right people in roles where they can impact members\' goals. Train, develop, and mentor club leaders through observing, coaching, accountability, and leading by example. Problem-solve obstacles with and for the team to guarantee an outstanding member and team member experience, fostering trust through delegation and empowerment. Set goals with department leaders and guide execution of club strategies to achieve club and career goals. Cross-train and transfer skills to enable creative and solutions-oriented thinking among team members. Collaborate with internal and external partners to grow the member community. Qualifications / Must Haves
3-5 years of progressive management experience supervising 3-10 employees with measurable outcomes in employee development and promotion. 5-7 years of broad retail/hospitality/operations experience focused on high execution in both operations and service, with attention to team member and/or customer turnover. Experience managing P&L and trend reports with strong math/analytical skills. Experience building or rebuilding teams in a collaborative environment. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with emphasis on listening. Experience turning around operationally and/or financially deficient departments or teams. Proven ability to execute defined strategy and delegation. High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. CPR and AED certification required. Bilingual preferred. This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance in a clean uniform.
