This post is part of the ongoing development of medical services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The successful applicant will work closely with the existing Radiologists to provide a high standard of care across the Trust. We are seeking consultants with enthusiasm, commitment and drive to work with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation. Applications are invited for a full-time Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Nuclear Medicine. The post is primarily based at the Lister Hospital, Stevenage and requires 10 PAs in Radiology/Nuclear Medicine, with a minimum of 3 PAs delivered at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. There has been significant investment in imaging at the Lister site and the New QEII Hospital site, including an outpatient diagnostic unit with CT, MRI and Ultrasound. The department is equipped with 3 MRI scanners (1.5T Siemens and 2 x 3T Siemens), 4 multislice CT scanners, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, digital fluoroscopy and an interventional suite. A new SPECT-CT has been acquired and the unit at Lister Hospital has been refurbished. Main duties of the job
The post arises from expansion in imaging services. The successful candidate will join a team of 27 radiologists to deliver Diagnostic Imaging Services to the Trust and local commissioners. The candidate should have a subspecialty interest in Nuclear Medicine. We are a large teaching hospital for radiology registrars with aspirations to grow. You will be expected to engage with the SpR training scheme locally and regionally. Any experience in teaching and training, including formal teaching methods, would be ideal.
