The Team The Healthcare Industry Group (HIG), a subsidiary of A&M, focuses on delivering transformational change to the healthcare industry. We advise organizations on financial and operational performance improvement, strategic growth, and value creation across the investment lifecycle, including interim management, restructuring, revenue cycle, M&A, regulatory compliance, digital technology, and analytics. You will work with clients across sectors including health systems and providers, physician groups, ancillary providers, medical schools, vision, laboratory, dental, behavior health, managed care, public and private healthcare plans, government programs, healthcare investors and lenders, medical devices, suppliers, and life sciences.

HIG’s Healthcare Services practice (HCS), with offices nationwide, focuses on serving private equity portfolio companies and healthcare organizations with services such as performance improvement/turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services).

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities to significantly reduce cost structures by redesigning organizations, eliminating non-value-added tasks, and focusing on value-added activities.

Optimize month-end close processes and management reporting to support ongoing decision-making.

Build and analyze financial models and conduct financial and operational analyses (e.g., synergy analyses, 13-week cash flow, pro forma statements).

Guide clients through crisis or rapid-change contexts by structuring and executing performance improvement plans.

Develop operational data analyses and KPI metrics; conduct client interviews to assess operations.

Summarize analyses, draw conclusions, and make actionable recommendations from large data sets.

Lead work streams within projects and manage day-to-day engagement priorities with guidance from senior leaders.

Prepare client-ready deliverables and presentations; present findings to clients.

Coach and mentor junior staff; build client relationships and identify opportunities to expand engagement scope.

Support marketing by assisting with pitch preparation and marketing materials.

Help build product and service offering tools and templates.

How You Will Contribute As a Senior Consultant you will work closely with healthcare clients on complex assignments, using independent judgment and critical thinking to gather data, design practical solutions, and drive financial and operational improvements aligned with client needs. Responsibilities may include:

Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost structure by redesigning org structures and eliminating non-value-added tasks.

Qualifications We seek an entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset, comfortable managing ambiguity and thriving in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Consultant you will demonstrate leadership, integrity and objectivity when interacting with clients at all levels. Requirements include:

High energy individuals with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues.

Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in healthcare, healthcare consulting, or related healthcare industries (e.g., healthcare banking, accounting, audit, private equity) with a healthcare focus.

Advanced Excel proficiency and experience in financial modeling; ability to build 13-week cash flow and three-statement model from scratch is a plus.

Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience with Visio, Tableau/Power BI, SQL, SPSS, benchmarking is a plus.

Solid project management and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of healthcare industry, including healthcare finance, operations, valuation, and applicable laws and regulations.

Ability to exercise good judgment and escalate issues appropriately.

Ability to coach and mentor junior staff.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to all client levels.

Willingness and ability to travel as required.

BA/BS and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related healthcare fields (e.g., MHA, MPH).

Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA, or progress toward such certifications.
