Position Summary The Project Rebound Director is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Project Rebound program, which includes programmatic oversight, staff supervision, budget planning and approving of all expenditures. The Director also serves as coordinator of all resources and programs under the auspices of Project Rebound, including student housing (Sac State houses/UEI). The Director must facilitate the enrollment of all formerly incarcerated students who qualify for the program based on university and program criteria. The Director assesses each student’s unique academic needs and familiarizes them with all necessary California State University, Sacramento services that will aid them in the matriculation process. The Director acts as a liaison between Project Rebound and campus departments (such as Admissions and Outreach, Academic Advising, Career Center, Departments of Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Ethnic Studies, College of Continuing Education/Open University, Bookstore, Services to Students with Disabilities, Guardian Scholars, University Enterprises, Inc., Associated Students, Inc., University Advancement, and Student Affairs) and many other departments that further promote the success of Project Rebound.
Qualifications FLSA : Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range : $6,320 per month - $6,636 per month
CSU Classification Salary Range : $6,320 per month - $9,014 per month
Recruitment Type : Temporary, 1 year appointment, renewable dependent on funding
Time Base : Full-Time
Pay Plan : 12 months
Work Hours : Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Hours may vary depending on operational need

Project Rebound assists students to prepare, apply, enroll, and graduate with a degree from Sacramento State. Project Rebound provides educational resources and services for students looking to develop professional skills. We work to transform those who were formerly incarcerated into scholars through counseling, mentoring, academic resources, and career development. We support students who are motivated to succeed by earning a high-quality degree from Sacramento State.
Requirements Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral or Social Science, Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field. One (1) to five (5) years of experience with incarcerated populations.
Knowledge and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of program policies, procedures, and practices.
General knowledge of public administration, including organizational, personnel and fiscal management; advanced statistical and research methods.
Ability to carry out complex assignments, advise students, determine actions, and maintain professional relationships in sensitive contexts.
Ability to analyze problems, coordinate actions, evaluate data, and project consequences of actions.
Experience
Four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience, including advising students and resolving complex student services problems.
Education
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where job-related.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Behavioral or Social Science, Social Work, Education, Criminal Justice, or related field.
Knowledge of Project Rebound organization, CSU Admissions requirements, and community resources such as Reentry Programs, EDD, Food and Housing.
