Overview
The Project Rebound Director is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Project Rebound program. The Director facilitates the enrollment of formerly incarcerated students who qualify for the program based on university and program criteria. The Director assesses each student’s unique academic needs and familiarizes them with all necessary Sacramento State services that will aid them in the matriculation process. The Director acts as a liaison between Project Rebound and campus departments and other units that further promote the success of Project Rebound. Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Project Rebound program. Provide programmatic oversight and staff supervision. Engage in budget planning and approval of expenditures. Coordinate resources and programs under Project Rebound, including student housing. Facilitate enrollment and support services for formerly incarcerated students in accordance with university criteria. Liaise with campus departments (Admissions and Outreach, Academic Advising, Career Center, various academic departments, Student Services, Guardian Scholars, University Enterprises, Inc., Associated Students, Inc., University Advancement, and Student Affairs) to promote student success. Qualifications
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral or Social Science, Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field. 1 to 5 years of experience with incarcerated populations and with advising students individually and in groups; experience in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems is preferred. Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of CSU Sacramento campus and campus support programs; knowledge of the criminal justice system and CSU system issues affecting Project Rebound students. Ability to maintain records and to handle conflict resolution, problem solving, counseling, and facilitating conflict resolution; strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; basic computer skills. Commitment to an inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents. Condition of Employment Ability to pass a background check. Lived experience of incarceration and/or the legal system is not necessarily disqualifying for this position. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Behavioral or Social Science, Social Work, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
