Overview
Engineer/Architect 1/2 Flex (Geotechnical Engineer) in Anchorage, Alaska. This position is flexibly staffed at Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineer/Architect 2 level, and part of the Central Region Materials Section. The incumbent will develop geotechnical recommendations in support of bid-ready documents for highway and aviation-related transportation projects, supervise three Engineering Assistants, review plan sets, create drill plans, and coordinate with other design staff. Office-based with occasional trips to project sites, sometimes in remote areas accessible by small aircraft. What You Will Be Doing
The Engineer 1/2 Flex will: Work as part of the Central Region Materials Section in Anchorage to develop geotechnical recommendations and supporting reports for highway and aviation projects. Supervise and collaborate with three Engineering Assistants; review plan sets; create drill plans; coordinate with design staff. Occasionally travel to project sites, including remote locations, sometimes by small aircraft. Organization, Mission, and Culture

The office is located at 5750 East Tudor Road, Anchorage (satellite to 4111 Aviation Avenue) with a private office in the Central Region Materials Lab building. The Tudor office is near Far North Bicentennial Park with access to trails. Engineer/Architect 1 Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect. If not registered in Alaska, must be registered in a state recognized for comity and become registered in Alaska within one year of hire. Engineer/Architect 2 Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or equivalent. Special Notes
Valid Driver's License required. Occasional travel to project sites within southcentral Alaska, including remote locations by small aircraft; may involve overnight stays and adverse weather conditions. Employment may require Alaska registration within the specified period for non-Alaska registrants. Required Information and Application Instructions
