Overview

The Manager of Gas Restoration is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the restoration of gas service following planned or emergency outages. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely restoration of service while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The manager leads a team of field personnel and collaborates with internal departments, emergency services, and external stakeholders. Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment. Eversource will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position. Essential Functions

Supervise daily operations related to gas restoration, including scheduling, dispatching, and field crew management. Manage, train, and develop a team of gas restoration supervisors, paving coordinators, and support staff. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Communicate with customers, municipalities, emergency responders, and regulatory agencies during restoration events. Develop and maintain emergency response and restoration plans. Analyze restoration data and prepare reports on performance, compliance, and improvement opportunities. Manage budgets and resource allocation for restoration operations. Core Tasks

Lead and manage gas restoration work. Direct field crews during restoration activities. Ensure proper deployment of personnel, equipment, and materials. Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet safety and restoration goals. Enforce adherence to OSHA, DOT, DPU, and company safety standards. Conduct safety audits and incident investigations. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments, customers, and external agencies during restoration events. Develop and maintain gas restoration plans and procedures. Track restoration metrics (e.g., duration, customer impact). Oversee procurement and maintenance of restoration tools and equipment. Manage performance by reviewing and evaluating work of employees, identifying, building consensus, and communicating performance measures and expected performance levels. Ensure compliance with Company work rules and procedures; understand and comply with the labor contract and resolve initial grievances; initiate disciplinary action when required. Develop and maintain relationships with Operations, Engineering and Integration management and users of the solutions to ensure systems and processes are functioning as designed. Improve processes and streamline business operations; maintain reports and metrics for the department. Ensure 100% compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures. Develop and implement process improvements to provide effective and efficient operations. Safety & Compliance Management (with DPU Integration)

Ensure full compliance with Massachusetts DPU regulations, including 220 CMR 101.00, and federal pipeline safety standards (49 CFR Part 192). Adhere to state-specific requirements (e.g., D.T.E. 98-22). Oversee contractor compliance with DPU oversight rules, including qualifications, training, and performance monitoring. Ensure all restoration activities align with the Massachusetts Gas Distribution Code. Prepare for and respond to DPU audits, inspections, and incident investigations with complete and accurate records. Maintain a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound workplace; conduct regular safety meetings and ensure standards, rules, and laws are understood and followed. Maintain familiarity with federal, state and company codes and standards to ensure regulatory compliance. Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill: Demonstrated leadership capabilities involving managing groups, using information from groups effectively, motivating employees, valuing individual contributions, and creating a sense of team. Ability to lead and communicate with employees honestly, fairly, and timely using sound judgment. Experience in managing department personnel development, training, and performance management. Resolves employee concerns in a competent, respectful, and responsive manner and fosters a Safety Conscious Work Environment. Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Master’s degree desirable. Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of electric and/or gas utility or related experience. Five (5) years in a management and/or leadership capacity desirable. Licenses & Certifications: Valid Motor Vehicle Operator license required. Must obtain and maintain required Operator Qualifications. Working Conditions

Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range for this position is $141,800.00-$157,550.00. Employee Details
