Test Engineering Manager 2 . This position will be located in
Roy, UT
or
El Segundo, CA
and will support the
Sentinel
program. This role may offer relocation assistance. What You’ll Get To Do
This position is a dual-hat role requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. The functional management component will comprise up to 20% of the time, with 80% technical responsibilities as an engineer supporting SDS programs within the same function. The candidate will act across multiple organizations to drive execution. As a Functional Manager, you will provide a wide range of people leadership and mentoring activities and foster a culture that supports learning and growth. You will facilitate and execute the performance management cycle for direct reports, including setting goals, mid- and end-of-year reviews, and performance evaluations and compensation. You will mentor direct reports and serve as a first line of contact for career growth, training, and certifications funding, stretch assignments, etc. Essential Functions
Promotes the professional development of the Homeroom workforce and fosters a collaborative culture around engagement, inclusion, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement Manages direct report annual goals, performance evaluations, and compensation reviews Ensures accurate time charging and timecard approvals Manages conflict resolution, performance issues, and improvement plans Mentors career growth for the team of direct reports Aligns direct reports to technical roles based on program needs Identifies stretch assignments and opportunities; understands systems engineering, agile methodologies, and project management to deliver against schedules and budgets Technical Oversight Of The AVE Integrated Test Program
Develop and implement a unified AVE T&E strategy with programmatic requirements, compliance documents, and NG T&E policies Establish and maintain a robust T&E framework to organize test events around key decisions, capturing and communicating data to stakeholders Build and validate AVE test flow diagrams mapping test event sequencing, relationships, and dependencies Standardize T&E processes across test teams by documenting in the Integrated Test Plan (ITP) to ensure consistency and efficiency Define early baselines for all tests with objectives, scope, limitations, and critical details to meet early programmatic milestones Cross-Team Collaboration And Integration
Collaborate with systems engineering, program management, design, and manufacturing to align with program objectives and milestones Partner with Systems Engineering to develop testable requirements and verify plans Enhance MBSE tools to integrate T&E strategy, test frameworks, baselines, and test flows into a unified AVE ITP Use MBSE to identify gaps, streamline audits, and align with program milestones Interface with the US Government customer and the Combined Test Force via Integrated Test Plan reviews and the AVE Test Working Group Work with Segment, Element, and Subsystem Test Teams to define and baseline the scope of test events Identify and address gaps or overlaps in the test program and document mitigations through the program’s risk management process Project Management
Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) delegate for Integrated Test Planning Work Packages Maintain updated estimates for project completion, manage schedule forecasts, and align with program milestones Develop corrective actions for cost or schedule variances and document risks and opportunities while maintaining project schedules Benefits

Bachelor's Degree in STEM with a minimum of 6 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM with 4 years of related experience Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval within a reasonable period At least one year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule Experience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have
Experience with defense acquisition milestones and milestone requirements, including understanding of a test team’s role in supporting each milestone Experience with systems engineering concepts (requirements management, verification/validation, MBSE, etc.) Experience with compliance document tailoring and implementation (standards such as SMC-S-016, SMC-S-006, SMC-S-025, AIAA S-113, DoDI 5000.89, DAFI 99-103) Experience in developing an integrated test plan, DoD TEMP, or similar docs Experience with DOORS or MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler) Experience with AF Test Directive 99-103 Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $234,700.00 The above salary range is a general guideline; offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply; long-term incentives may be available for VP/Director level roles.
