We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your role will be instrumental in stabilizing patients, diagnosing conditions accurately, and providing appropriate treatment in high-pressure environments. Respond promptly to emergency medical situations and provide immediate care to patients. Perform medical assessments, examinations, and diagnostic tests to determine the nature of the patient's condition. Stabilize patients experiencing trauma, injuries, or acute illnesses. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions following established protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. Document all medical interventions, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members to provide updates and instructions. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in healthcare practices and decision-making. Requirements:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board certification in Emergency Medicine. Valid state medical license and DEA registration. Demonstrated experience working in emergency departments or urgent care settings. Proficiency in performing medical procedures such as intubation, suturing, and splinting. Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse populations. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of Emergency Medicine. Level IV trauma Schedule: 8 to 9-hour day or night shifts Annual Volume: 15k patients 16 ED beds, 4 for lower acuity Support Staff: APPs, scribes, additional MDs EMR: Cerner Must be board-certified Paid travel & expenses
