Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Emergency Medicine. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals in need of urgent medical attention. As a Locum MD or DO, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging cases, making a significant impact on the community's health. Responsibilities
Respond promptly to emergency medical situations and provide appropriate treatment. Perform medical procedures as necessary, such as intubation, suturing, and wound care. Order and interpret diagnostic tests to aid in accurate diagnoses. Collaborate with nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients treated. Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for emergency medical services. Participate in continuous medical education and training to stay current with advancements in emergency medicine. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board certification in Emergency Medicine. Valid state medical license to practice as a physician. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications. Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedule: 5p-1a or 7p-3a No call required Level III trauma Daily Volume: 23 patients Annual Volume: 60,000 patients Support Staff: APPs EMR: Cerner Must be board-certified Paid travel & expenses
