Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring a qualified, Medical Technologist I to work in Gaithersburg, MD. We are on a mission to create care that’s more convenient and professional. The Medical Technologist I is responsible for performing routine and moderately complex laboratory testing with accuracy, precision, and timeliness. This role ensures proper specimen handling, test analysis, and result reporting in compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform specimen handling, processing, and analysis per laboratory SOPs.
Review, interpret, and release accurate patient test results.
Maintain QC records, calibrations, and proficiency testing documentation.
Identify and resolve testing issues or escalate to senior staff/supervisors.
Report STAT and critical results according to department procedures.
Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and lab safety protocols.
Maintain records of all tests, reagents, and procedures.
Participate in training, safety sessions, and regulatory inspections as needed.
Contribute to departmental cleanliness, organization, and team operations.
Qualifications
BS in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology required; candidates previously qualified under 42 CFR 493.1433 accepted.
Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing preferred.
Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, QC/QA, and safety standards.
Strong multitasking skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple procedures.
Excellent communication, customer service, and interdepartmental collaboration skills.
Must maintain strict patient confidentiality.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods and handle routine lab demands.
Contact with clients and other departments may be required.
Commitment to compliance, quality assurance, and accurate documentation.
Job Details
8 hour shifts.
Must be flexible.
Starting at $62.94hr (Based on experience) + benefits
