Job Summary: The Assistant Manager assists the Property Manager in managing all aspects of daily building operations, including office management, administrative work, and resolving resident problems. Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary:

Chinatown Community Development Center is a private non-profit founded in 1977. We own and/or manage approximately 30 affordable housing buildings serving over 3,800 low-income seniors, single adults, formerly homeless adults, and families across San Francisco’s Chinatown, Tenderloin, Western Addition, and Polk Gulch neighborhoods. We also build housing, develop grassroots leadership, and engage low-income residents and youth. We value empowerment, teamwork, and compassion and are committed to culturally competent services. Responsibilities
Assist the Property Manager with the overall operation of the building
Use Yardi to print reports and enter re-certification information
Create and maintain tenant files, applicant waiting list, and transfer list
Assist with bank deposits
Assist with processing applications, move-ins, move-outs, rent collection, and certifications
Assist the Property Manager with compiling and completing tenant information for monthly and annual summary reports (e.g., Vacancy Report, PSR)
Responsible for managing the building when the Property Manager is off-site
Tenant Relations
Address tenant requests/disputes and respond to building emergencies
Assist tenants and perform other duties as required for successful operation of the building
Support Property Manager as needed
Forward reasonable accommodation requests and fair housing complaints in a timely fashion to the 504 Coordinator
Office Management
Update visitor/guest log, daily log, and other front desk forms
Handle typing, photocopying, faxing, and filing
Process daily mail and screen incoming phone calls
Order office supplies, fill out maintenance work orders, and distribute memos/notices
Maintain orderliness of the front entrance, lobby, and adjoining areas
Other

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adjust to changing situations and work under pressure
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with prior experience processing paperwork
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi or other property management software
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Bilingual in Chinese
One (1) year prior experience in residential property management
Sensitivity to issues facing low-income, disabled, and elderly populations
Bilingual in Cantonese or Mandarin
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with low-income/affordable residential property management
Prior experience with security and/or reception work
Familiarity with Property Management
Tax Credit Specialist (TCS), California Certified Residential Manager (CCRM) or other equivalent designations
Proficiency in Cantonese
