Summary

The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System's Diagnostic Image Service is seeking a well-rounded general Diagnostic Radiologist with subspecialty expertise, particularly in body imaging, PET/CT/nuclear medicine, or neuroradiology. The Malcom Randall VA Medical Center is part of this system, which includes two medical centers, five large multi-specialty outpatient clinics, and eight small community-based primary care outpatient clinics. Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional criteria listed in the job announcement. Pending training or license completion, applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial appointment requirements are deemed qualified. Basic Requirements

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA policy. Medical Degree: MD or equivalent from an approved school. Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. Residency: Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, leading to eligibility for board certification. Additional details on residency and eligibility are provided in the full requirements. Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology (preferred). Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Preferred experience includes fellowship in body imaging, neuroradiology, or nuclear medicine. Physical and other requirements are detailed, including passing a pre-employment physical and specific physical abilities. Duties

This is an open continuous announcement, accepting applications ongoing until filled. Eligible applicants are referred weekly until a selection is made. The position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), with specific eligibility and application requirements. The role involves serving as a Staff Radiologist, performing general diagnostic radiology including radiography, fluoroscopy, US, CT, MRI, PET/CT, and nuclear medicine exams. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with part-time options and potential shift variations.
