About the Role
The CFO will lead and oversee the company’s fiscal management in alignment with GAAP and FASB standards. This role is responsible for safeguarding the organization’s financial health through reporting, forecasting, and providing actionable insights that drive sustainable growth and informed decision-making. Beyond core finance and accounting, the CFO will serve as a trusted partner to the executive team, contributing to strategy, investment decisions, and long-term performance. Success in this position requires a highly engaged, forward-looking leader who can modernize workflows, mentor high-performing teams, and ensure financial stewardship is fully aligned with the company’s broader operational and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Partner with the Office of the CEO to align vision and strategy across the company
Lead finance and accounting teams while partnering with the CEO and CRO to maximize value creation, shape portfolio strategies, and guide investment and financing decisions
Modernize and digitize finance workflows with IT and operations, driving scalability, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close, delivering accurate and timely insights to the CEO, Board, and executive team
Provide actionable recommendations to drive profitability, sustainability, and long-term growth
Develop dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to measure and guide organizational performance
Manage risks tied to cash, capital, compliance, and treasury, while building strong banking, treasury, and investment relationships
Ensure contracts are financially sound and strategically aligned with organizational objectives
Enhance team performance, mentor staff, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax codes
Oversee enterprise risk management, including credit, treasury, insurance, and tax; serve on the Risk Management Committee
Represent the company’s financial stability to customers, suppliers, insurers, and bankers
Safeguard systems integrity, data security, and cyber risk management in collaboration with IT and compliance teams
Support captive insurance oversight and participate in related meetings as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned by the CEO or Board
Qualifications
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance; Masters in Business Administration preferred
CPA, CMA, or CFA certification
10 years prior supervisory experience in the accounting/financial reporting areas preferred
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to lead, grow and mentor the accounting/finance team
Ability to understand the “big” picture, including macroeconomic implications for the Company
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, plus interpersonal and supervisory abilities
Ability to develop positive working relationships with other departments, as well as outside stakeholders such as Board of Directors and lending institutions
Ability to influence, collaborate and lead across the organization – vertically, horizontally and down
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to interact with employees and customers, professionally and courteously
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
