Full-Time / On-site Job Summary: The Director of Production is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of goods. This role plays a critical leadership position, managing day-to-day production activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and aligning production goals with overall business strategy. The Director will ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are consistently met while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, fabrication, assembly, wiring, staffing, and equipment utilization. Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resources. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance departments to ensure seamless operations and timely product delivery. Monitor and manage KPIs such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), throughput, scrap rates, downtime, and labor efficiency. Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across all production areas. Implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Establish and manage the departmental budget, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures. Ensure all products meet internal and external quality standards. Evaluate staffing needs, recruit top talent, and develop training programs to support team growth and development. Report on production performance and present data-driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership. Qualifications: 8–10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior production management role. Strong knowledge of production planning, materials management, quality systems, and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, OSHA). Proven experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs. Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production analytics tools. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-mix, high-volume production environment. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle. Experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and/or Wiring Processes. Working Conditions: Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments. May involve occasional travel to other sites or vendor locationsf. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and tolerate extended periods in a manufacturing setting (e.g., standing, walking, noise exposure).
