Executive Director, Residential Operations and Business Development Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation’s capital. Overview The Executive Director, Residential Operations and Business Development, Planning and Facilities Management – Georgetown University, provides strategic leadership for a large and complex university housing enterprise, including Housing Assignments, Housing Operations, Summer & Conference Housing, and Business Development. This role supports university priorities including housing 90% of undergraduates on campus, Capitol Campus growth, and capital improvement efforts for 1.5M+ square feet of residential space.

Responsibilities

Lead short- and long-term planning to increase housing capacity.

Oversee occupancy and revenue strategies for 5,400+ beds and 11,000 summer guests.

Ensure integration with capital projects, deferred maintenance, and facilities improvements.

Guide move-in/move-out planning and develop marketing strategies.

Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Provide vision, leadership, and management for all residential operations.

Oversee $54M in housing revenue and budget planning.

Coordinate capital planning and deferred maintenance for residential facilities.

Lead strategic partnerships and summer conference operations.

Directly supervise two Directors and provide leadership to a team of 8 staff.

Ensure compliance with ADA, Title IX, Fair Housing, and equity standards.

Lead crisis response and serve on the Campus Emergency Response Team.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience and training.

7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in university housing operations.

Strong leadership, financial management, and occupancy management skills.

Experience with housing assignment systems (e.g., StarRez).

Excellent communication, planning, and crisis management skills.

Knowledge of ADA, Title IX, and Fair Housing regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in residential master planning, renovation, and construction.

Familiarity with Jesuit, Catholic institutional values and student formation.

Strong background in assessment and data-driven decision-making.

Understanding of student learning and development theory.

Pay Range $80,429.00 – $157,238.93

Compensation is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and the University’s business needs.
