Location: Washington, DC 20010 – Prime location for DC nursing jobs with access to museums, dining, and historic neighborhoods. Unit: 3G Neuro Trauma ICU (Comprehensive Stroke Center) Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN Contract) Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026) Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts/week; primarily days (07:00–19:00), with up to two weeks of nights (18:30–07:30) per six-week schedule Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1650–$1770 Patient Ratio: 2:1 Scrub Color: Ceil blue Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) ICU RN Qualifications
Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending status accepted with proof; must have license in hand before start date) Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (neuro trauma ICU preferred) Travel nursing experience required (new travel RNs welcome) Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (CCRN certification preferred) Clinical skills: Conscious sedation, ICP monitoring, ventilator management, arterial/central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, blood product administration, post-neurosurgery management, traumatic brain injury care Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed Two supervisor references required Completion of required modules and orientation (average 12 hours) ICU Nurse Responsibilities
Provide expert critical care to neuro trauma ICU patients, including those with SAH, ICH, ischemic stroke, brain mass, and head trauma Operate specialized ICU equipment: EVDs, Raumedic Bolt, Artic Sun, CVVH, lytic catheter, Flo-tracker, PA-catheter Monitor and manage patients with multi-system organ failure and complex neurological conditions Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response) Float to other ICUs/IMC as needed to support patient care Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions Participate in ongoing education and required orientation modules Apply now
