Summary

Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The approval award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the application. To qualify, you must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met initial appointment standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements: U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens encouraged to apply per VA policy Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school Current unrestricted medical license in the U.S. Completed residency training approved by the VA Enrolled residents in accredited programs may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and only appointed intermittently or on a fee basis Proficiency in English Preferred: Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Fellowship training in Anesthesiology Physical requirements include lifting 15-44 pounds, reaching, walking, standing, and other physical standards Duties

Provide comprehensive anesthesia services and post-operative care Participate in peri-operative and ward/ICU rounds Consult and guide CRNA, nursing, and medical staff Teach residents and students, document services, and provide morbidity/mortality reports Ensure high patient and staff satisfaction Additional Information
