Cristo Rey Columbus High School is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven
Director of Business Development
to lead the sales efforts for our Professional Work-Study Program (PWSP). This position reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and works in collaboration with the PWSP team. This individual will play a critical role in securing new corporate partners to employ students through our unique work-study model. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a strong sales or business development background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing transformational opportunities to high school students from under-resourced communities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development & Sales
Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partners to participate in the Professional Work-Study Program, increasing the number of paid and funded work placements each school year Build a robust pipeline, securing face-to-face meetings, selling the program, answering questions and overcoming objections Conduct outreach through networking, events, cold calls and referrals to expand the school’s presence in the local business community Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to corporate decision makers Host opportunities for prospective partners to tour and attend events at CRC Develop customized partnership solutions based on company needs and alignment with PWSP goals Solidify partner commitments and secure contracts Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current and prospective employers Serve as the point of contact for employers during the sales process and onboarding Collaborate with PWSP staff to ensure a seamless transition from sales to partnership implementation to renewal Provide regular updates and stewardship moments to corporate decision makers throughout the relationship Advise on opportunities to recognize key partners through social media engagement Increase PWSP’s brand awareness across the Central Ohio community Support the development and execution of annual employer recruitment strategies to meet revenue and job placement targets Maintain detailed records in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge) to track outreach, meetings, pipeline development, and closed sales Analyze trends and generate reports to inform strategic decision-making Collaborate with the Advancement (fundraising) team to ensure a holistic approach to all corporate relationships QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in sales, business development, or external relations Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and cultivate professional relationships Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking and presentation delivery Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking processes Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Commitment to the mission and values of the Cristo Rey Network and belief in the potential of all students PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
