The Division of Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an Open Rank, Fixed-Term, Tenure or Tenure Track or Variable Track Faculty appointment for an intensivist to work in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Responsibilities will be based in the CICU and may include outpatient cardiology clinic, inpatient heart failure service, and cardiovascular imaging depending on interests and training. Teaching internal medicine residents and cardiology fellows is an integral part of the job. Board certification in critical care medicine, an active research program, experience in quality improvement, and experience in cardiac imaging are considered pluses. Position rank and track are dependent upon applicant qualifications and experience. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
MD or DO, Board certification in Internal Medicine, Board certification in either Cardiology or Intensive Care Medicine with both certifications preferred. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Preferred qualifications include: training and experience in assessment and management of critically ill cardiac patients, including management of ventilators and mechanical support devices; competency in cardiovascular imaging or board certification in advanced heart failure and transplantation.
