Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Navigator will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in gynecological cancer and other tumor sites diagnosis, treatment and care. He/she serves as the single point of contact for referring physicians, patients and care givers for Gyn Onc cancers. He/she functions on and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams as a coordinator of care, advocate, interpreter, educator and counselor for patients with the diagnosis of Gyn Onc cancers. He/she will serve as the liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding services provided for this unique patient population. He/she will facilitate patient appointments, including those made with labs, diagnostic areas and specialty physicians.
Requirements
Must possess: BSN, OCN preferred Must possess: 3 years of relevant clinical experience preferred RN - State of Maryland CPR Must possess excellent interpersonal skills Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Must be able to utilize various computer programs and maintain a robust data base. Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel Microsoft Outlook Epic (if applicable to position) Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
