Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant – Contract-to-Hire
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid) • Work Schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Salary Range: $30–$40/hour (flexible for the right candidate)
The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform secretarial and substantial word processing functions for attorneys in a professional office setting, where the work environment is busy and demanding. This is a contract-to-hire position offering an opportunity to grow with the team.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to provide high-level litigation support in a contract-to-hire position. This role emphasizes managing details, staying organized, and keeping attorneys on track in a fast-paced practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings and signature pages
- Prepare deposition and motion binders; handle electronic filing of court documents
- Manage attorney calendars, track deadlines, and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings
- Enter billable time for assigned attorneys
- Maintain client files and contact databases
- Coordinate travel arrangements and conference calls
- Anticipate attorney needs by preparing materials for hearings, depositions, and trials
- Review and direct incoming mail; handle other administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Prior litigation legal administrative experience required
- Strong organizational, proofreading, and communication skills
- Ability to balance competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Skills & Education
- High school diploma required; business or legal secretarial training preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and document comparison tools such as Workshare/Word Compare
- Experience with iManage or other document management systems
